    Removing the HH Ridgeline

I've been searching the archives and not yet found what I'm looking for. I have a HH Ultralite A-sym Backpacker. The ridgeline is great help with the bugnet, but if I go to sit in it like on the website, it is in the way.

Before my hammock choice is criticized, I bought it two years ago before I knew of this forum, is there a way to make the ridgeline there when you need it and not when you do not?

I was thinking of having a clasp of some sort to bring two lengths of line together creating a ridgeline when you need it and unclasp it when you do not.

This will all be most likely a temporary solution until I can build my lightest easiest to use kit.

This has been discussed in length in other threads. I can not direct you to the discussions but I am sure some one will.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Rather than using a Dutch Biner, I make a smaller lighter, less expensive ridgeline mini biner.

One thing I love about this forum...people may not make the same choices someone else makes...but I don't think I've seen anyone criticized for their choice in hammocks.

The rule around here seems to be HYOH.

    "Hang your own hammock".

I read here for a couple of weeks, and still opted for a Hennessy...there's nothing "wrong" with the choice.

After hanging in it for a while today. I still like it a lot, just want to make it better.

Could one be used in the middle in place of two on each side?

I only use 1 on one side. It is about 5 inches from the gathered end so it is out of the way but still accessible. Then I just let the other side dangle out.

I put one biner about 6 inches down from the foot end. It works just fine.
When it goes over their heads, it really doesn't matter how high it is.
