So, I halfway wanted to be the first to post here, but I do have a real question. What are the different types of ridgelines? Other than just tying a line to a tree above my hammock, I don't know of anykind. I know this may be real elementary, but I just wanted to ask. Thanks all!

Two types:
Structural Ridgeline - A ridge cord that exists between the ends of the hammock having an effective length less than the length of the hammock's main body fabric, whereby when the hammock is attached to a pair of trees a certain minimum sag is maintained in the fabric no matter how tightly the suspension is drawn.
Non-Structural Ridgeline - A ridgeline that does not conform to the above definition.
Disclaimer - That definition isn't mine. The concept of a structural ridgeline is patented for commercial use by Hennessy Hammocks, and is paraphrased here to answer your question.
