The Nano 7 is probably going to be my go-to for my thru-hike next year. After I've got all my gear (sleep systems are so $#$% expensive) I'm going to order a PapaSmurf GT UL And keep the UL as my back up. And if I end up not sleeping well in the Nano 7, I've slept a ton in my UL so I know I'll be alright there.

Thing is, spent all my 'hammock' money on the light stuff, now I've got none left for the extra comfy stuff I'll just have to be patient - good things come to those who wait

I was at Grandma Smurf's house tonight and showed her both videos. I was explaining the GT Nano, BugSock, weight, sizes and so forth.

Mom got that glazed over look in her eyes and pretended to understand, and to care.

After the video, I ask her. "So what do you think?"
She looked up at me confused and said "So, they call you PapaSmurf???"

    Moms are great.

    Time for another disclaimer.

The whole sock idea was originally a creation of JustJeff's.

Later Sgt. Rock took this idea and made further developments with it.

About three feet off the ground? But I usually like to hang it a little higher.

I was thinking of your height, not the height of the hammock relative to the ground.
