    Question is it really safe?

I've just bought some FSE Robline Ocean 3000 2mm. Dying to try it out but looking at how thin it is compared to how not thin I am, having difficulty putting my faith in it! lol

No, you want a breaking limit of about 3 times your weight. This will keep you safe from higher forces due to the angle of your hang and the dynamic forces of movement.

EDIT: If you sit down, REAL slowly and move REAL slowly and hang NO MORE than 30 degrees it will hold you, however I wouldn't trust it if you were to move.

Of course, only thing to watch out for is that the line could be "too" strong and your tarp will fail before the line fails.

I think that's more dangerous then hanging from it! At least from what I'm told, I don't have a wife to deal with :P

I would be cautious trying the 2mm, but the 3mm is rated a bit stronger(800kg) than 7/64" Amsteel Blue(730kg). It should work just fine.

You're gonna need a bigger hammock

3mm it is then as i'm 110kg. I'm amazed at the strength of Amsteel, on another topic does anyone know of any equations/calculations for the relationship between the angle of hang and load in hammock?
