When I was in the military I got a couple of those free and they are the same type you buy at WalMart, the only difference is the military once have ties on them.

lat two side by side, tape them together down their length (Front and back).

Cut the double to the shape of the hennessey (Lay the hammock on top and trace around it.....it should end up looking like a diamond)......now slit it back up on the end near the entrance, and add cross pieces of tape (90 degrees) to the long taped seam to prevent it from ripping further.... if the pad is the same shape as the hammock bottom, you shouldn't have to position it......

put it in the properly hung hammock, and note where it tends to bunch up....cut the excess loose (V shapes) and tape those (or not) as you like...that will allow the pad to wrap around you and cover the entire inside bottom of the hammock.....

I'm not sure that they are the same as the Walmart ones - the military CCF pad that I had was made with much smaller bubbles than the Walmart pad and its my opinion that the smaller bubbles makes for a slightly better R value (better insulation).

How you would look if you packed it

So here's my depiction of what one would look like hiking down the trail w/these hammock pads taped together like we're discussing. Notice how frightened the bear is.....could be a dual-use product hammock pad/bear deterrent.

That looks more like a bobcat or a mountain lion.
