+1 for florist wire.

I have a spool of the green wire (24 gauge) for amsteel and other larger cord. For the small stuff like zing-it, lash-it, etc., I use the smaller 30 gauge florist wire. Works great, no snags or issues with bulk in the core...

That Yarn Darning needle was the recommended household tool "back in the day" which is why I used it in the original tutorial on Whoopies. But would agree that the bent wire (which I did mention) is better. There are also several other sewing and arborist/sailing tools that work great.

copper wire is almost free and my personal choice. but another way i've found is to go to a fishing supply place ( ones that sell marine fishing gear) and buy a small amount of " SS wire fishing leader" it's fairly cheap and comes in small lenghts( thinking it was 10foot coil).

I've found that florist's wire works great.

+1...my wife uses it to make centerpieces and stuff, works great down to 7/64...haven't tried yet on the lighter stuff...
