Thank you for the offer but we have everything we need right now. If you want post them in the wanted section in the Scout PIF. There are a lot of Scout that need gear and would put them to good use.

I am sitting here at my office, finishing lunch, and reading this. By the time I was at the end of the first page, my thoughts were, what does he need and if I don't have it I would buy it. By the second page, I was choked up that everything he could want was being offered already. By the end of the last page I was in tears at how, not only was stuff being offered, but much of his gear is already replaced and in the mail!!

I read more than one post about something requested being sent along with 'extras'. This forum is going to send him everything he lost and enough extra to have some stuff for the wife when she gets the bug.

God's blessings to each and everyone you who have offered support, replacement gear, and thoughts. What goes around comes around. Your selfless offerings for a fellow hanger will come back to you ten fold. AMEN and 'hang on'!

I also am blown away by the generosity of the folks here.

I first posted at after 8 this morning, and now the post count has more than doubled.

People that sleep good are always happier and nicer. Hammock Forums is the only forum I've ever been to where there isn't arguing and bullying every day. It's more rare on outdoors forums, but nonexistant on hammock forums.

I just got to sifting through this thread and like others, I am blown away by the kindness and generosity of the members here. I can make a wood and alky stove for you and little bogg or one set to share if you like and some stuff sacks also. Just send me a pm and I'll crank it out. I have made several for members of our scout troop along with quilts and tarps thanks to the generosity of vendors of fabrics, thread and insulation so maybe a fellow hanger could enjoy an extended hand in hard times.

I know you're all squared away for gear, but I wanted to reply for a few reasons: first, to offer my sympathy--I've had a car stolen, and others broken into 3 times. It's a violation of basic rights and it leaves you feeling helpless. I'm sorry your boy had to experience this at such an early age.

Second, to say "Everybody is awesome." There are few places in the world where you can say that--one of them is right here. Thank you for your examples. You've given much more than gear, and you've given it to everyone.

Finally, it is an opportunity to be the 100th poster (I'll hit 'submit' and see if I made it).
You're gonna need a bigger hammock
