    Cheapest Most Compact Underquilt?

Not factoring in weight what is the cheapest most compact underquilt? Temp rating of at least 40 degrees(preferably lower).

Buying new I would say the leighlo 40° quilt. At $120 it is a fabulous quilt with a spot on temp rating and packs down to soft ball size. quality gear at a great price.

Why wouldn't we factor in weight? Seems like that would be a fair thing to factor in while we're making comparisons.

Im guessing Mancat is willing to take a weight penalty if the uq is small and cheap enough.

Ok. Sounds (to me) like a synthetic UQ is what you're asking about then. Most down UQ's are not going to be cheapest, although they are generally lighter and more compressible than synthetic.

MacEntyre's insultex UQ's would be one candidate for any comparison. I don't know what the temp ratings are for them though.

What about using a 3/4 length UQ? That would be one way to keep the weight low with synthetic fill UQ's... and seems they would also compress to a smaller size, and would be cheaper too, theoretically.

+1 on Leigh's quilts, I have both. They are top notch and affordable.

P.S. Add a couple layers in between it and it can go lower than 40*
