KAQ Lost River on a Clark N.A.

I just decided to step out of the Basic Clark insulation method.
I always used the Clark storage pockets as my insulator by putting either bits of clothing in them, or ziplock bags full of leaves. It worked ok. Never really had any Cold issues.
I found a KAQ 2/3 under quilt ( the Lost River ) on E-bay never used and I got it for $105.00 shipped.
I am learning to pack lighter, so I have less clothing for in the pockets, and messing with leaves is getting old real quick.
Looks like my first opportunity to try out the "Lost River" will be sometime in April at home and also at the outing that MAHHA is having at Pine Grove State Park in Pa. at the end of April.
I'll let you know how it works out.

For 125 bucks (which I believe is the current price) the Lost River under quilt did a great job for me.
My coldest night was about 45 degrees when I was on the A.T. last weekend.
It stuffed very nicely in my Gossimer pack. Was light enough for my needs and worked well for my Clark.
I think down under a Clark is overkill unless you are considering packability. Then down may be a better choice. The KAQ synthetic is a good economical choice. I combined a 3/4 KAQ synthetic insulation quilt with the Clark pockets and I have a winning solution.
I will know for sure this fall when I start to see colder temps again.
The mini-carabineers and shock cord that are part of the KAQ fastened right to the Clark hammock at each gathered end.
I use a carabineer through the channels at the gathered ends on my Clark and then from the carabineer I use webbing to the trees of choice.
The KAQ Under quilt mini-biners just fastened on the carabineer that I have through my channels and bing/ bang I was set up in 30 seconds!
I had a wallmart blue pad, but it really wasn't needed.
This is the only good pic that I have, and it may be slid up a bit high, but I did have it slid down a tad when I was sleeping in the hammock.

Sorry for the slight misquote on what the "LOST RIVER" is called-It is a 2/3 rather than a 3/4 underquilt.
I actually can't tell the differance between 3/4 and 2/3 without a tape measure.
Just that Pennsylvania Fuzzy math that I grew up with

Not that it matters much I guess but it looks like your head is on the wrong end.
