    Noseeum in my face

I have a Hammock Bliss with the noseeum netting and the netting is so huge it falls down in my face,I'm thinking of adding a couple of tieouts and small bungee to keep this from happening.

I crawled in the hammock today and marked a couple of places with masking tape where it seems would be the best place for the tieouts.Where I marked is about 12" up from the sides of the hammock on the netting itself.

What I'm planning is using ripstop inside and out with the noseeum being the meat in the sandwich.A loop of nylon webbing will be sewn to the outside piece of ripstop.

Will this work OK or is there a better way to do this.

    Thanks

I did this with the "rock and loop" method.....a small marble on the inside of the netting and a loop at the end of a piece of shock cord sized to just fit over the net and marble from the outside.

I had to move it a few times to get it in the best spot.

Their site shows several models with nets. Are you using the cocoon? if so, just drop a shoe in the bottom of the net to hold it tight. The others, it would seem you could tie the net higher or use shock cord to keep it from getting too tight...

I have a hammock bliss with the same trouble. I use a continuous tarp ridgeline much higher than my structural ridgeline so I attach the 2 tie outs (one on each end that came on the netting) to that. That doesn't completely do it so I roll the rest of loose netting up and use a small biner to clip it to my structural ridgeline on the inside once I am laying in the hammock. I have one of the Everready solar and crank orange flashlights with the fat plastic biner on one end that I have been using but any kind of biner or clip will probably do it.

In this pic you can kind of see what I am saying:

The noseeum is clipped to the tarp ridgeline with small (#1 I think) s-biners. When I make a better tarp I will probably switch to soft shackles to avoid hurting the tarp.

i had to do the same thing this past weekend. i took my #1 s-biners and clipped them up to my tarp line but i also used the attached ropes to hang the ends up higher on the tree.

Can you post a pic of the hammock? If it has whipped ends, or anything you can tie off too on the inside ends, you can run an elastic cord as an internal ridgeline...it self adjusts and keeps the netting up, and just stuffs in with the hammock when packing.Never have to bother with it again.
An emergency of my own making...is still an emergency.

I just purchased a couple of "no see um no more"s from Hammock Bliss and I want to add tie outs too.
Gripclips look easy to use and are probably effective, but I would love to find a DIY (cheap)method.

Look at post #2 in this thread, works the same as a grip clip.

It's a frequently used way to attach a guyline to tarps, nets, etc. You can use a pebble picked up on site, a marble, or in this case, a small acorn.

Here's a photo of description in post #2.

Looks like that will work for me. Thanks. I must have missed #2 when I read through.
