Took a trip up the Chatooga River recently. Parked at the trailhead just below Burrell's Ford and hiked north. I feel like I cheated this trip as we only went in about 10 minutes and found a beautiful spot and set up there by the river.

Took a bunch of different cooking gear to do some field testing.
Jet Boil, Venom alcohol stove, Heiney pot, caldera cones, Snow Peak Titanium etc

Friday supper was Burritos. The meat mixture and Salsa was dehydrated at home and brought back to life at camp.

Hit the hammock early that first night. Temp was 57 degrees at night, just perfect for sleeping.

It was nearly 9:00 when I got out Saturday morning.
Breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon, chased with Starbucks VIA coffee.
The eggs, cheese, and salt were frozen at home and thawed overnight. The bacon was the precooked type.

The plan for the day was to hike from the river up to the Foothills Trail and then up to the Fish Hatchery and back down the East Fork Trail.
Here is a GPS screenshot of the area.
The purple line is the Foothills Trail, Green is the Fork Mountain Trail from Sloan's Bridge to the river, Black is along the Chatooga River, and the blue is the 9.4 mile hike we took. We camped at "Camp 2011".

Supper that evening was Spaghetti, based on the video from Babelfish5.
You can find it here.

Meat sauce and spaghetti were cooked, mixed together and dehydrated.

In camp, put the spaghetti in a pot and cover with water.

Bring to a boil and then turn off the heat and let steep for 20 minutes.

Finished product

Dessert was chocolate cake from the video by Bluefin 774.

I bought Betty Crocker Chocolate Caramel Microwave Cake Mix. Just add water. Mixed it up and poured it into a Ziplock Screwtop container. It had frozen eggs in it earlier.

Put the bowl in a pot of boiling water and cover for 15 minutes.

Cover with the caramel and enjoy. This is a keeper.

Had another beautiful evening and cool night and slept like a baby.

Breakfast was the Egg, Hash Browns, Sausage Casserole from Can't Wait.
You can see his video here.

Added some leftover bacon and cheddar cheese.
This is another keeper.

We loafed around until noon and hiked the 10 minutes back out.

I really appreciate the help from the three video chefs.
Those are great recipes. Please keep them coming.
