    i'm 5'8" -

for winter- i go with a full length hammock gear winter incubator. no muss, no fuss. i know i'm getting total coverage when its 5 degrees and staying warm is a very real concern.

for 3 season- i go 3/4 hammock gear 3 season phoenix. offers enough coverage when the temps approach freezing and slightly below. i have a gossamer gear torsolite pad that doubles as my mariposa plus back panel and foot pad to complete 3/4 uq.

for summer- its the 2/3 warbonnet summer yeti. when temps hover around lows of 45 and above, the weight and slightly smaller size can't be beat.

    P.S.
I think the best UQ on the market is the Hammock Gear Incubator...no wait, the AHE NR...no wait, there is the Jacks...no wait,...

The best UQ on the market is my most recent last one but the next one is whispering seductively as we type.

i recently purchased my first, and probably only, UQ. i prefer synthetic fiber and i wanted an all in one-ish UQ, or as close as i could get for my needs. i went with a full length, i can loosen the fit to suit the weather or have full coverage for winter. i had it over stuffed and had some extra loops sewn along the sides for additional hang options. anyway i spent my hard earned bucks on a Wilderness Logics here is a thread with some pix.
i won't been able to cold test until this winter, but i am very happy with the quality and the fill is virgin poly fiber.
it doesn't compress as small as down and it's a little heavier but it's the one for me.

IMHO, right now the 3/4 length 3-season Phoenix from hammockgear is the best. Best length and best fill. Wildernesslogics 3/4 length is a better length, but uses inferior fill and as a result ends up heavier than necessary. The Yeti is too short and narrow unless you are a munchkin.

That my take. I only like down and I don't camp in the winter.

    *cough* Warbonnet Yeti *cough*

    But any vendor is great.

If pack real estate is an issue full length is your enemy. 3/4 is a good starter size. 2/3 is the smallest and lightest.

Hammock Gear 3/4 myself. I like having a backup plan.

The thing I like about the 3/4 is the fact that I bring a GossamerGear pad(for a long footpad since I'm tall). If I ever run into troubles, I can sleep on the ground with a lot of thermal protection with little weight. The pad rolls up small and sits on the top of my pack and take up no internal pack space.

We all have our style, that's the beauty of this sport.
