So me and my buddy decided to come here to test some gear before the foothills trail hike we are planning. so we headed up there even though the forecast was thunderstorms all week. I got about 10 miles from the camp site and it started hailing pretty hard. I pulled over and waited it out and then drove down the beautiful gravel road towards the parking spot
then the skies were clear until I got to my camp site and opened my bag and pulled out my hammock....then it started raining again but I just moved quickly and set my guidegear 12x12 up and it turned into a monster shelter. where I sat and cooked some food and waited for my tent buddy to arrive.
I sat around and cooked some food with my newly crafted heiny pot :
this was the test burn from the previous night. crappy stove I know haha
It rained for a good 45 minutes and hailed again a tad before it started to flood my site so I grabbed all my stuff and piled in the hammock and napped until about 15 minutes later my friend arrived and the skies had cleared up so we set up the rest of camp.
I felt bad for him having to dig a trench around his tent and sleep on the ground. must be awful . we slept great and woke up and caught 2 fish . went to the store got some salteen (probly wrong spelling) crackers and vedgie oil and fried those trout up. there were amazing. I camped out later that night. hes still there until sunday. I might go back tomorrow night for another over nighter thanx for reading also forgive me for my uneven tarp ridgeline. It was raining when I set it upand I was in a hurry and my grip clips were sliding haha
