Anodized aluminum rings and cinch buckles? Where are they?

So my wife and I are definitely using webbing for the suspension on our DIY hammocks. I am having the hrdest time finding either the aluminum rings or the cinch buckles. I take that back, my wife found some but they were forty dollars a piece! So my question is where do yall get them for your own hammocks?

The climbing gear section of any outdoor equipment shop that sells climbing gear will have the descender rings. Here's one from REI. http://www.rei.com/product/471123/smc-descending-ring If you search "descending rings" or "rappel rings" on Google, that should give you some good luck. Cinch buckles, I have no idea. I'm a climber.

What is the weight limit on most descenders? I weigh bout 300 lbs so it's gotta be high. I have no idea what killanewtons are lol.

1 Kilonewton is ~220 pounds of force. I trust my life to those things as I back off the edge of a 1000 ft cliff. They will hold you. Trust me.

Paul at Arrowhead was selling the cinch buckles but he sold out and is trying to decide if he should continue to stock them.

I think they are a great item and use them on all my hammocks.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I have started using these (thanks to the tip from OldGringo):

I think they grip better than rings...

If its rings you want, I have used these (thanks to Scott from BWDD - he suggested them on his site):

Are these rings any good for hammock suspension? Or are they simply too weak and liable to pull apart and leave one ground sleeping? Anyone tried them and know?

Of course assuming the total hanging weight is below the weight limit of the rings.

I ask because I have a few left over from a different project I was working on and would love to be able to use items I already have instead of having to go spend more money.

SMC descending rings are climbing rated so more than adequate for our needs. And they only weigh 11 grams each.

Even small people put significantly more than 200 lbs of force on the suspension. You could try them, but the real descender rings aren't much more expensive and will for sure keep you off the ground. It's worth giving them a shot I guess.

Guess I can give them a try hanging low at first so that any sudden show of gravity will result in minimal danger.
