Most webbing locks you find are intended to cinch down a sleeping bag or the like.. these are cut from thick aluminum. I have used them many times, with my 210lb fat @$$ and whatever else I brought along - zero slippage. I tried rings and found it too tricky to get the straps right on top of each other to justify against the admitted pain of feeding webbing through a ladder lock.

I use marine grade 316 stainless 1" rings... (available from online chandlerys)

Rated to 3527 lbs and less than a buck each.

They weigh about 13 grams each.

    Just another option.

AHE carries rings for hammock suspensions HERE.
I think Soupy's 1 inch ring in stainless might be a little small. But it may work. Could be worth a try for a buck.

Yes the Onrope1 cinch buckles are heavier than SMC decender rings. The cinch buckles weigh 28 grams each = 1 oz. For me the pair of cinch buckles is worth the extra 34 grams due to performance and no slippage.
