My New Warbonnet Superfly with Doors!

I originally posted this in the Weather Protection section but I thought that it also needed to be posted to the Warbonnet thread.

Here's a copy and pasted version from my original thread:

Thanks to fellow HF member itsjustbusiness999 I now have my very own Warbonnet Superfly with integrated doors!!!!

Fortunately, itsjustbusiness999 felt that the SF was more tarp than he needed so he sold it to me. I am so grateful and happy that now I can change clothes without frightening the masses and myself

I have been wishing, wanting, hoping for and waiting for the right moment to either get the add on doors for my Superfly or to plunge in and buy the new one with the doors already on it. Thankfully, I listened to that quiet voice in my heart and just waited. Low and behold the time came and I now have it!

I put together a picture video of the new home. No, the hammock in the pictures are not of my Blackbird. It's just a netless HH Exp that I use sometimes to lounge around in.

Anyway, here is the link to the video:

    Thank you Mark!!!

Great look at the tarp, thanks.
I shall be pulling the trigger on one soon. Warbonnet doesn't need to advertise with all the vids on here

Mine's on the way too, along with some JRB self-tensioning lines!

How do you have your doors rigged up with the cord locks? Look like something I might be interested in...

I'm sure that the JRB STL's are far better than the ones I made but they are actually really easy to make. I made mine for all of the guylines and each side tie-out. Since you're considering the shockcord/cordlock method for the doors you will need to pick up some shockcord anyway. So, just buy enough to do the doors and the STL's.

To answer your question on the doors: On one end of each shockcord I tied on a mitten hook. I might change that to a #1 S-biner but for now I'm good with it. Anyway, on the other end of each shockcord I just ran it through the "D" ring on each door and then fed it through the cord lock and tied a knot to keep it from slipping back through the cord lock. Then when I want to close the door I clip the mitten hook to the "D" ring on the side of the tarp. Very easy, works like a charm and I don't need to carry more tent pegs than I already do. When the doors are folded inside (open position) I just clip the mitten hooks from each door to each other.

Yes indeed! The Superfly has a happy home.

For all of the gram weenies I weighed the whole kit and kaboodle after taking it down and it weighes in at 30.70 onces!

That includes everything. Tie-outs, shockcord, ridgeline, bag, 4 groundhog stakes, 3 titanium shepherd hook stakes, etc. I will try to lighten it up a tad by replacing the shockcord to even thinner shockcord and maybe pick up the titanium version of some groundhog stakes. Hopefully I will be able to bring it down a few onces. In the meantime I'm carrying it. Afterall....I have doors!!

    Thanks again!

I know. I took it down. I figured leaving it up for several days was enough to allow folks to take a look.

If you go to my profile I put most of the pictures of it there.
