    WNC Hang

Anyone up for a WNC hang? I'm in the really western part of the state really close to GA so anyone in the Franklin, NC. Sylva, NC or Clayton, GA area is interested in doing one just tell me.

I'm always up for Standing Indian or maybe Siler Bald.

I am depending on the wheres and whens... Lots of options in those areas including the Chattooga River.

I might be in also. Just need a good amount of lead time so I can ask for the days off. I know of a great place near Blue Ridge, Ga that is right on a stream and you can drive right to the campsites. Chattooga is nice but a little ways from WNC.

Lots of good areas in that neck of the woods & I am open to anything. I would prefer at least some type of short hike in as opposed to car camping if possible.

The area of the Chattooga trail I am thinking of (Big Bend Falls) is off SC 107 about 20 miles from Cashiers NC. It would be about 45 miles from Franklin NC. It would also be 2 hrs from metro Atlanta, 1 1/2 hr from Greenville SC, 1 1.2 hr from Asheville. The hike in would be about 2 miles.

I'd love to go if my schedule permits.

There are numerous short hike options on the Chatooga. Also, you can go in a Deep Gap and it's only 2.5 miles to Standing Indian. I prefer the river if we go in the Summer. If you're wanting something near Clayton, you can go in near **** Creek Falls, hike north about 1.5 miles and there is a large campsite on the river. Either way, I'm with Gville Dave and had rather do at least a short hike in. I have a couple of extra backpacks if anyone needs to borrow.
