    te-wa down underquilts

What do people think of the te-wa 3 season underquilt(Freeze). I'm surprise more people don't try since HG is locked down all the time. It appears to be the same design, just more narrow.

I've got a summer 3/4 from hammock gear and I like their product. They just don't do what it takes to meet the demand of customers orders or at least take the steps to give their customers a warm and fussy feeling about the situation. Sorry for the rant. I'm sure they are good people, just over booked.

So I'm looking for alternatives. I'm a tall guy so I like something longer than the yeti but I might have to simply deal with it. They do seem to strategically work with the diagonal nature of the WBBB which I have so maybe it's just as long.

I'm pretty sure I checked out the list of choices, I'm just short on peoples experiences.

It's always easy and safe to jump on the band wagon, but not so sure it's necessary.

    thanks.

i don't know why this is. why do so many of my buddies wear nikes instead of reebok or adidas? i think i saw a guy at the maaha hang (kayak carl) who had one of te-wa's UQs. he'd be someone worth looking into for some first hand info. other than that about all i can provide is everything i've seen or heard about his quilts are they are top notch...

I've got first hand with Te-wa but not the 3 season.
I have his summer and his Winter Coat.
While you cannot go wrong with the hammock forum vendors it is true that sometimes you have to wait....the wait has always been worth it for me regardless.
Now if you want to know about the summer or the Winter coat you can relax in knowing you'll get flawless kit that is as advertised and customized exactly as you might want.
I believe that AngrySparrow also has a Winter Coat....I don't recall Te-wa's turn-around time as being long either.

not to drift... but a channel suspension has become one of my priorities--

do tewa quilts attach from 4 corners.. or run a full length channel suspension?

i will say, though, i've only heard positive reviews of his quilts... and would like investigate one-----someday./

I know he has free shipping to the US . i just am a full length UQ fan. I believe syb has the 3 season but again dont hold me to it. he is a great guy for customer service. I discussed getting one awhile back but decided on a full length elsewhere

head end: suspension is attached at 2 corners using grosgrain loops, fixed.
at the foot end, one side is fixed and one side has a cordlock to adjust tension if needed. this is huge - when going from one hammock to another of differing lengths, as the BB and the Traveler, for instance.

i have the winter coat. had it down to 10 degrees, but no temps to really check it out. no complaints and service was great. we need to continue to support the cottage industries even as they go through their Growing Pains (good read)

I picked up a 3-season Te-Wa and I love the warmth this thing provides. I surely thought I bought a summer version because it weighs so little. It attaches in seconds, is easily maneuverable and **** warm. I hang in an uninsulated room above my garage and during some 40-ish degree evenings I've had to vent it a lot as I got too warm.
During the NJ winter hang in January I went down to 13 degrees with this UQ. I used a hammock sock, WBBB, foot pad in the foot box which performed flawlessly, Ray-Way TQ, EMS 20-degree sleeping bag as a second TQ and my Te-Wa. Warm at 13 degrees.
He pays very close attention to the fine little details like the edges, corners and his suspension - it's all top-notch. I will eventually amass some gear from all our cottage guys but as far as the Te-Wa goes, IMHO, you can't go wrong.

Yep, I think I have one of the earlier ones he made.

I couldn't be happier with it. Excellent construction details, and lightweight. I've had it to around or just below 10ºF and was quite warm.

I'd buy another Te-Wa quilt without hesitation.
