Q: Buy 2 Nanos for a LW Double?

Wanting a small (I'm 5'8" 150#) light weight double hammock, is two Grand Trunk Nano hammocks a good way to go? I already own one, and Amazon currently has them for $40.

My scheme is to use different foam pads of the appropriate thickness to suit the insulation needed on each trip.

The Nanos have sewn channel ends. Suggestions for how to join the two hammocks are welcome. So far, I have one set of slings and straps from P. Smurf for a suspension.

Worth a shot. Another nano + pad is $50, might as well save a little more and get an UQ. Check out the Baby Orca - very cool little piece of kit.

Why don't you just use one Nano and an underquilt? I Love my Nano and I use a Hammock Gear UQ.

that's what I have been doing, I bought two grand trunk hammocks, turned one into a gathered end to serve as my primary hammock and use the other one to hold my Exped Symat 7 pad in place... total cost was around $40.00.

I only carry / use one pad these days, the Exped, you can easily adjust the inflation on it with the built-in pump.
Have a very comfortable sleeping platform when combined with my Exped Dreamwalker sleeping bag.

works very well for now, and you have a back-up hammock just in case...

I use some shock cord with a cord lock to hold the 2nd hammock in place and it attaches to the suspension lines at either end, pretty much the same way you would hang an UQ.
