ERGO the problem; tent vs. HammockIt's one thing to frown at rain clouds from an office window. It's another to wake up in a damp tent, pull on soggy, smelly clothes, and hike up and down muddy mountains in the rain carrying a pack weighed down with wet gear.
If you want to dry something out you hang it up . . .

Last week I got HAILED on during a thunderstorm on the ridge there just north of Pickle Branch Shelter. That stuff can hurt! Fortunately, it didn't last too long (maybe 30 minutes for the total storm).
