    Mosquitoes?

Just wondering! I hung last night up on Skyline Drive and the bugs were crazy. All night long I had mosquitoes buzzing under my head. I have a 3/4 UQ and a 1.1 double layered hammock. Will these little sucker still get me through the hammock material? No bites last night but I made sure my UQ was completely covering my shoulders also had my stuff sack pillow.

That is exactly why I like using the Eno bug guards.....the skeetoes down here have what seems like 18g needles.

I got hit in the knee in my DL Light Hiker. I'm sure it was pressed against the material while side sleeping and they went right through it. One word: permethrin.

Normally skeeters can not bite thru double layer hammocks. I still treat mine
with permethrin just in case and have yet to get bit and the mosquitoes here are on steroids.

    permethrin

I was thinking about applying permethrin. Is it safe for hammocks as far as not weakening the fabric and how often does it need to be reapplied (seasonally)?
