VA hangs?

The most enjoyable aspect is, of course, the HF folks! Everyone will fall over themselves helping you, bringing extra gear for newbies, etc. We're all gear junkies; so, showing off mods and new tricks, and talking until 4 AM about gear is almost mandatory.

I guess I should mention that if more than six people show up, you are responsible for lugging a pop-up canopy to the hang site so everyone has a place to congregate. ...hehehe! Just kidding....

Happy Memorial Day!

Deucalion suggested I post pics of the David Lesser Shelter Area. About 9 miles on the AT SoBo from Harpers Ferry in Virginia. Just put pics in Gallery under SkyDog titled David Lesser. AND....!!!! Ran into "JIM" from here on HF!!! Pic of Jim and Mariah also in that same Gallery.

Nice and cool at night (60F), very pleasant in the shade of trees, NO ticks, a few skeeters; but, a nice breeze kept 'em away.

TRAIL ANGELS (!!!) on the way out with iced bottled water, home made cookies - Just too nice and much appreciated! I only had a couple gulps of warm water left at that point - Perfect!

Or.....!!! Just pick a date & location, OK? Previous post mentioned Mt. Rogers which is waaay too far for me at this time - probably 6-7 hours one-way.

My son and myself would be interested too. A wonderful place is Secena Creek, WV. It's about 5 hrs from Richmond. Beautiful trails, water falls, wilderness.

I can do Secena creek Wa. are their many trails to follow. Can you set it up for late September or october? I'd like to meet up with the Va members. Might even get my son to go around that time frame.
