I have not had my WBBB 1.7 dbl long enough

to have put it to the skeeter test.

But I have slept countless nights in my HH Explorer Dlx (before treating it with permethrin) and not experienced bites. Of course, all of us who report no bites do so on an anechdotal basis, and as the adage goes, the plural of anechdote is not data.

The manufacturer claiming "skeeter-proofness" had its hammocks subjected to a controlled condition test and is touting the results of that test. So be it. I will bet that for most manufacturers the cost of running a lab evaluation that is meaningful (that is, lawyer-proof) would be too expensive.

Just back from the Goat Island hang last weekend and I am suffering with several bites. However, they are chiggers and not mosquitoes and saw them on me while out and about on the island. During the early evening hours, the bugs were out including mosquitoes. Only safe haven for me was either in the water or in my WBBB dbl 1.7. No bites while in the hammock.

    nother

Used it in lakeside conditions with many skeeters, only bites I had were the ones on my arms where I didn't use enough Deet. None on my hams or backs of legs where they'd have had to bite through a double 1.1. At least 6 trips last year with skeeters, none yet this year (too cold).

Never been bitten under any conditions and have no bug spray on my hammock. I love my warbonnet
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I have a 1.0 DL and spent last Satiurday in one of the most mosquito infested campgrounds I've ever had the displeasure to experience. Zero bites - slept like a log.
