No permission is needed to link to videos on youtube

for that matter a image posted in a public forum - well is just that public

edit to add: for images if I post on my web site a link giving credit = good. or at least saying"Here's is an example I found on this forum" Giving the impression to the user that you created the image = bad

They really should give credit and a link back. But it really is a testament to the usefulness of you diagrams. They are easy to follow and understand. Great work....

Share the joy...OK, but common courtesy requires a link back to the original. Also, the link would make the graphic that much more useful to those who see it on the upnorthica site.

You know, I'm all about spearing the good news, and there have been several guys who have asked permission, perhaps just out of courtesy. I like the exposure and hope it goes viral, but attribution is always important especially when you are quoting something, which is what is going on here. Info graphIcs are more than just a pretty picture you found somewhere...there's a much broader dialogue going on.

What would be nice is a link back to the forums where more information can be shared.

I have more images and info graphics in the works so keep your lanterns trimmed and full of oil.
