Great video sir. I am now going to diy myself some pads like yours. The ones you made looked much nicer then the Clark z liner and are probably warmer. Any chance we could get some patterns and measurements. Once again thanks for the video.

169.00 - 189.00 seems a bit steep for something that looks like a pretty easy DIY project...
I will say though that I have slept in one of these below freezing temps with out a pad a UC or this liner and I was quite toasty... I just put a few objects in the pockets below me to extend down that space and it seemed to work very well...
I am working on a DIY hammock now and I am def going to incorporate them same underpocket idea...
Thanks for the review! Where can I find the diy sheet for your homemade pads?
I am curious if you may share what materials you used for your own pads (the fill and fabric)? I was thinking it would be awesome to make my own set of spring fall inserts and then separate winter inserts.
thanks for the video, totally helped me decide how to proceed!
Read the thread. Find a recent posting by the video-maker on what he has been up to. Find repeated and similar requests made earlier.
Also find elsewhere in DIY some suggested dimensions for down filled pads, from experience as part of a thread on an expertly made set of pads by yet another HF member.
When it is cold, I will find out how well or poorly $2.50 Wallmart pillows with half their stuffing removed seem to be almost exactly the right size for 4 of the 6 pockets; and whether the slight undersizing for the last two of them is a proof-of concept invalidator.
ISTM that with Clark having already provided and included the "bags" for 6 of the seven required pieces, the cost of completion should be minimial and minimized. Otherwise, the exercise is akin to finding the finest --and consequently expensive -- down comforter (or wool blanket), and then going to parallel expense to enclose it in an equally fine protector.
Here is a portal to the most comprehensive threads on DIY pads for the Clark.
Very excellent. Well-worth following.
