Hey gang,
Fresh off of the assembly line: a new 4 season camo tarp with doors! This one is quite large - 11 feet by 13 feet. I did the DIY silnylon with this as well. Lots of rain and high winds last week in Missouri so it was really put to the test. Works like a charm! Being able to close the doors during a torrential down pour was a real treat. I also really appreciate the amount of shade room created when the thing is pitched high and wide. Also made some tarp skins from some scrap bug net material and gross grain. Love 'em! Gotta have 'em!
The bug net was something that was thrown together on the fly. I neglected to bring one with me to Missouri, but had some material in my supply box. I had enough to sew two panels together to create an envelope that measures 90in X 36in. I stitched a drawcord and cord-lock(should have used shock cord, perhaps) in the bottom to draw it closer to the hammock. Rather than closing completely it creates a soft seal. This makes it real easy to get in and out of. The whoopie sling slips though a tiny opening at each end. This means that I can easily remove the net when it is not needed. Light weight and CHEAP!
Cheers from a cheap *******
