    Question re: JRB Hammock Suspension System

    Hello All,

    I am new to this hanging thing but looking forward to getting off the ground. I could use some assistance with installation of the JRB Suspension (whoopie sling) on a Blackbird Hammock.

    I have attached the utility loops to the hammock. The part that is confusing me is how the whoopie sling is attached to the tree saver strap. Is a carabiner required? It is described as a complete suspension system and so I assume no additional parts are needed. Do I loop the whoopie through the loop in the end of the tree saver strap? It is not quite clear to me how the connection is made from picture below:

    Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    There's a couple of different combos but I think you're on track. The continuous loop attaches to the hammock body, then the dutch biner. Then the adjustable end of the whoopie also goes on the biner. The fixed end of the whoopie is looped to one end of the trees strap. Last is the dutch clip. That setup should match the photo.

    That's how I had mine set up originally but slowly flip-flopped it. Now I've just got the fixed end of the whoopie going straight to the hammock. The adjustable end goes around a toggle hanging from some long tree straps via a marlin spike hitch. It's simple and a little lighter.

    Good luck and happy hanging.

    Your complete suspension should include;
    tree straps
    Dutch biners
    Dutch clips
    whoopie slings
    continuous loops

    Thanks to both of your help, I just had a nice afternoon hang in the yard. I can't wait to take it on the trail.

    Thank you!
