knots & cinch buckles

Ok, I have everything I need to hand my hammock.

I made the prusik knot around the buckle, what knot do I use to loop it around the hammock end? I wasnt sure what knot was best. I would prefer something I can unknot in case I want to try a different whip on my hammock.

Any suggestions? I am knot stupid. har!

Probably a larkshead would be best for that setup

i know exactly what you mean by the plaque house. My son's tonsils are now like golf balls, and when he gets sick he gets mad. As soon as we think we got the sickness gone, it rears its ugly head. Ohh to get out and go hiking.

When I make the Prusik knot on a carabiner for practice, I was left with two lines heading towards the hammock. On Jeff's page, the Lark's Head seems to be made with one piece of line. If there are two, I was thinking of making a loop with both pieces of line, tying a bow-line, and thereby having the loop made with both pieces of line that can be used for the Lark's Head. I'm assuming that would work, but would appreciate comments before I fell on my head.

That will work just fine, and that's the same approach that I would use as well. I like having the weight of the hammock resting on a double strand of cording.

Just to toss out another way of doing it, though, the following method -

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

That would leave you with a single strand on the hammock end for tying the lark's head knot.

Both methods have been proven to work fine.
