    Too Warm??

I have been looking into a UQ for a while. I have a DIY, No-Sew, 2-layer, 2/3 Poncho Liner UQ and am currently looking at a DIY Insultex UQ/Jerry Chair.

My question is is there such a thing as too much quilt?

I live in Massachusetts and will be hiking only New England spring till late Fall. I'm hoping to keep going till the first snow fall.

Would one 3 layer IX quilt be too warm in the Summer months? I have read it does not breath well. Is that an issue? I know loosening the suspension can vent it a bit, does that help much with the breathing?

I have very limited long term storage options in my apartment so my gear needs to be as few pieces as possible.

    Thanks,
    Jay

You can always slip the UQ to the side of the hammock......off of you...and deploy when you wake up chilly.

That's the kind of thing I was hoping to hear. Thanks Shug.

What he said! EASY to readjust as temps drop during the night.
