Like the photos. What's the tarp made of? Looks like the tarp joint is going diagonal to the ridgeline. Is this correct? Seam sealed or leaks?

It's coated polyester taffeta. It's not horribly heavy (to me), but will probably be like carrying an anvil for the gram counters. I got it from Sunny Sports (I forget who, but someone else linked it in a different post). It's the 12' x 12', it's $58 on there now, with free shipping.

I'm using the whoopieslings.com single line tarp ridgeline for it, and it is amazing and easy to set up.

Katharina from Mountain Goat Gear made me some mesh noseeum tarp skins for it, they worked out great.

Thanks! Says it has taped seams. I haven't used it in the rain, so all it's had on it is morning dew, but under the tarp I was completely dry. I believe it has more than one seam going diagonal across it.

The hammock was dry and the ground under it was too. Surprised at that since I had it rigged high for the breeze earlier in the day. Some on here had said that they get wet with it. I did not, even with the wind blowing.
If you want big coverage, for a porch etc, this is not the tarp for you. If you want a backpack-able tarp with adequate coverage....Consider it.

Price was $79 at Alabama Outdoors
Gumbo & I have ENO DNs and have used them in the rain and had the same great result. So we're +2 to what wyleone just said.

Try the oes deluxe thats what I use with my double nest the weight is much lower and coverage looks better than the eno tarps. I ll tell you though whe I look at other hammocks I keep asking why any other brand, I can lay at all angles and be comfy in my double nest.

    Sweet pics, Chorpie!

I'm headed to Southern CO next week to escape TX heat and test some new gear. Hopefully, I'll get some decent pics too, if the smoke stays away

I have the Noah's 12. As others have stated, it's not a lightweight. It makes up the difference in durability and config options. I can have a huge porch for lounging, cooking, etc. I can also pull it in close and create doors, while using the center pulls for some breathing room. And, I can always pitch it diamond style to have a hammock mansion if I want one. If tree spacing is tight, I can fold one corner up and tie it off to the center line pullout. I like options!

There are bigger tarps. There are better tarps. And there are lighter tarps. I just think the Noah's is a good all-around choice until wallet and specialization require otherwise... My $0.02

I've seen people use inverted hiking poles to set up a porch? I tried looking at that using mine, but it didn't seem like it would be stable. Anyone have tips on setting that up?
