First Time For Everything - First Thread First Time in the Trees

    Hi All,

Thought I would say Hi over here on this forum, heard lots of good things about you for BushcraftUK, Bushcraftliving and BushcraftUSA and as I have recently joined the world of hammocks i wanted to say Hi.

I have see some familar names on the forum, but for those who dont know me my name is Tim, from Oxfordshire UK and have been into bushcrafting (well camping in the woods) for about the last 2 years, all of which time i have been a ground dweller. But after my birthday i took to the trees as my wife treated me to a DD Hammock.

Last weekend I had the chance to get out into the woods and thought I would try out the hammock my wife bought me for my birthday.

Apart from putting the hammock up in a few trees here and there I had not slept in it.

a few pics of me playing in the park.

and playing at lunch time in the car park (shame the pillers were not furture apart lol)

Well after my night in the woods I now see what people always going on about. It was the best nights sleep I have had in the woods in ages.

Below are some pics before my phone died once again (must remember to charge it before I go out)

I dont have an underblanket, but slept fine with my inflatable roll mat in it, but sure any colder i would have felt it.

It was also the first night for my honey stove and zebra which worked great.

cant wait to go out again.
