North Country Trail 100 Challenge..one day away

Tomorrow is the big day for the NCT100 challenge. This is taking place through the section of the NCT that runs through the allegheny national forest in PA. For some the challenge is to do 100 miles in 50 hours (Friday at 6 pm to Sunday at 8 pm). A 25 mile and 50 mile leg are also offered. I will be doing the 25 mile leg with my girlfriend then meeting some friends saturday night. Wonder if anyone else will have hammocks...

I just did part of the section that this runs through. That is a big bite to do 100 miles in 50 hours. Keep us posted, blueblaze, and let us know how it went. Maybe in my younger day-Nah! Not even then. It would be too much. You wouldn't have time to do nothing but hike-fast for 50 hours.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Ahhh...I would have loved to participate. 100 would be out for me, probably even 50, haha. Good luck Blueblaze! Don't hike to fast, enjoy it!

I was a great trip. 41 participants. We started at 6 pm on friday and hiked about 7 miles that evening before setting up camp. We finished the 25 miles the next day around 2:47 pm. This was the 2nd annual and they had their first participant to complete the 100 miles in the alloted time, actually in about 45 hours!
