    Shock Cord as Tarp Guylines???

Anyone ever do this? its a thought that occurred to me today. I would imagine the elasticity of the shock cord would keep a very tight pitch on the tarp. it would also allow you to not need much overall length for each line due to the stretchiness. am i wrong?

Shug did/does this. Also side guyouts on many hammocks do this. Shouldn't be a big issue to use completely shock cord guyouts. Just watch out for stake slingshot effect.

hahaha true. didnt think of that. i guess just having the shock cord on the end of each line would make it more likely to keep both eyes

I sometimes use shock cord alone on side-pull outs but for corners I use No-Tangle line with shock-cord tensioners. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=3731 No shock cord at all on ridgeline guys.
Always check the "stickys" ...lots of good info there. You'll find them in each category at the top of threads.
