I would suggest a quick PM to 2Q/ZQ..they are proficient at hammock mods and can give advice from a place of knowing WTH they are talking about.

Sewing patches on netting is simple. I personally would recommend hand sewing with a small curved needle. Trying to get into the interior of that expanse of bugnet can be a real pain with a machine. Ripped out seams are one thing. Machine stitch those. But bug patches... just get a 1/2 - 3/4" curved needle (Joannes has them), a pair of needlenose pliers and practice your best Dr. Kildare suture technique.
