Hmm, can´t remember that promise!
BUT I have statistics that says that the temperature last year was -36 in the area where my idea of a hang is.
The temps on feb 18th for five years:
2011 -36 degrees
2010 -23 degrees
2009 -33 degrees
2008 -12 degrees
2007 -32 degrees
Average -27 degrees
That means that if me and moski goes to the same place feb 18th 2012 it will be +5 degrees......
Anybody has an idea of a place or do you want me to give you a suggestion?

any suggestions on location?
I think i should be north of the arctic circle(of course) and somewhere "dramatic" with nice scenery - but which airports are up north? And which have operative routes when we need them to?

Suggestions?
Well, I have a suggestion for the hang but first why.
1. If we want to see northern light we need to get far away from towns because of the light from the cities that intefere with the visibility.
2. If we want to be alone in the wild we need to go to a place where snowmobiles are forbidden. Snowmobiles ain´t allowed in nationalparks.
3. Above the arctic circle (of course).
4. Trees. Of course.
5. Should be close to an airport but it is not completely necessary. If the airport is far away it is always possible to rent a car. Or get picked up by some of the other participants.
I have a place that fills all those needs.
It is Muddus Nationalpark!
I have been there before in the summer so I have a pretty big knowledge about the area.
The closest airport is Gällivare. From Gällivare we need to drive about 40km to get to the closest entrance of the nationalpark.
Another option for airport is Luleå. From Luleå it is 230km to Muddus but it is not as stupid as it looks to go to Luleå instead. Flying to Luleå si much cheaper. The cost is only 498SEK to Luleå instead of 1371SEK to Gällivare. I don´t know what the cost for a rental car is but it could be cheaper going to Luleå if you are 3 guys splitting the cost for the rental car.
I would go by car if it would be Muddus but I wouldn´t go via Luleå. That is a detour of 250km for me. But I could go via Gällivare, that is not a problem.
Any thoughts of my suggestion?
Muddus?
