    Hey, sorry to get off topic here.

    I notice people say stored hanging a lot... Does this prolong the life of a hammock? Why can't you keep them compressed?

    i hang my down quilts but keep tarp & hammock in stuff sacks. curious too about storing tarps?

    For me its a throwback to coated nylon tents etc. where the if the coating was going to become compromised it would be on a fold if you were to store it folded and rolled. I also like to hang it next to the dehumidifier after a trip just to make sure its good and dry. And when its not hanging its in a large bin, still uncompressed. Does it actually help with longevity of Sil...I don't know, but I guess it can't hurt. Thanks for asking.
