What line to use for hammock?

Boy, I just realized that it has been a while since I posted. How is everyone? I am doing ok. Not getting as much hanging done as I would like.

I currently have about 30 feet of 1 polyester webbing (15 feet on each end of my hammock). I want to get my hammock weight down. I have seen some pics on the forum where people have used thine line instead of webbing. I would still use tree huggers, so as not to cut into the tree.

    Any suggestions/experience?

    Thanks.

every-one's different but i like not dealing w/ separate tree huggers.
i personally think the simplicity of the webbing going from ring buckles (or whatever) to tree is worth the small weight/bulk penalty.
i also find the biner on the webbing at the tree end is worth the small weight/bulk penalty. JMHO

Most people get their line from here. Look at the high tech single braid and the high tech small diameter double braids.

Does APS sell by the foot or the yard? It doesn't say when ordering.

you can do that with line and tree straps too. you just permanently tie the tree strap to line, and just make adjustments at the end of the hammock just like you would do with webbing.

Annapolis sells a 75 foot mini spool for a good price works out better than paying by the foot. Sometimes you can even catch a sale.

One way I've tried to adjust my support line at the hammock is with a ENO style. just run the rope through the loop at the hammock end and tie off w/ you favorite knot, good luck untieing it though. I had to use a screw drive the pry loose my haught line hitch.
