Sil will be slippery to sit in, and it won't breathe well, causing sweat buns.
I made one last year, I weigh 330.
Used 5/16" poly rope (braided hollow core) for the suspension. 50' will do you.
I spliced some, and tied most of the rope connections, and later added a foot rest.
1 x 3 oak for the spreaders. Drilled holes (3/8" I believe) in the spreaders to allow the rope to pass thru. Fed the rope thru and passed it thru the webbing loops, then back thru the holes and knotted it off.
IIRC, I used 1.9 fabric for the seat. Sewed on some webbing loops for the attachment points. 40 x 60 sounds right?
Heres the thread and some pics.
At the end of that thread there is a link to the AirChair...unless your really serious about the diy..this will save you alot of time and money.
Between the ropes, wood, fabric and knotting and splicing to get everything to sit right, I spent more than what a purchased one costs.
My son has it now, and it is still working fine. Darn comfy.
