That looked like a great idea for the under quilt. Jury rigged? Nooo. If it worked that well, you planned long and hard, worked long tireless hours to create that...or not, nice idea.
Thats a beautiful area you live in and a well made video.

Thanks everyone. Shug, I think I must've re-watched all your videos that week. When I finally saw your Jock Rock storm one I thought, 'I'm outta here', grabbed the hammock, hopped on the bike and headed for the 'piney woods' - we call it the bush . I was thinking of making a Shug tribute vid, but when I got out there I just wanted to chill out. Anyway, I must've been channeling your accent

The track is really nice, but the noise from the freeway is pretty annoying. You can cross the water there when the tide is low - and there's a good fishing spot under the cliffs on the other side. You're not supposed to camp or have fires or have any fun... I fried haloumi and whipped up some chilli beans - not UL, but when you're only walking for 30mins, who cares? Yum.

Thanks for sharing your trip. That's a nice area.

I used a sleeping bag that way a couple of times, too. Good idea - get out in the bush and stop worrying about the gear being perfect - good enough is all you need. You can fiddle with gear when you get home.
