    Poll: January Campout Dates

Per Smee's suggestion I am starting a poll on campout dates. Please check all of the following dates that you CAN make it. We will select the weekend where the most people can make it.

    6-7 Jan
    13, 14, 15 Jan
    20-21 Jan
    27-28 Jan

It looks like the location is Mt Rogers for a hike in. It won out in the poll. As far as the location this is as far as I am good for planning. I have not been there and am not familar with the area. Can someone who has been there suggest good hikes?

With my job I can make any of these weekends a long weekend if someone wants to add a day. On another side note. I only live a couple hours drive to RRG. If someone wants to go out during the week for a couple days let me know.

Come on, you didn't even vote in the poll. I'll pencil you in as an absentee ballet.

I think I mentioned this before, but there's a nice, scenic hike in to Wise Shelter from Grayson Highlands SP. Not too far, shelter close by to bail to if necessary, good water availability, and PLENTY of places to hang.

I will be at Wise Shelter Thursday night, then over by Scales Friday and by Rhodo Gap Sat. I did a day hike from Grayson to Thomas Knob shelter a month ago. See why I am not interested in going back in Jan.

    Ahh...gotcha

Although...I can't imagine ever getting tired of that area. It's one of the most beautiful I've seen.
