No, not me.
A few months ago (Ok, about 12 LOL) I permanently loaned my friend Matt one of my spare hammocks. Shortly after that he started Paramedic school so we never got to try it out. So last week he got in touch with me “going to RRG for a few days, want to go?” Naturally you know my answer. Sadly he couldn’t go, for a variety of reasons & I suggested nearby East Fork lake. SO, at 1030 yesterday AM I picked him up at home & we headed out. Hit the trail & just leisurely strolled to a secret campsite I love & set up camp. Then, as true hammockers, we took a nap.
We both got up around 4:00 & fixed dinner, while eating Matt commented that he hadn’t been able to get comfortable. I mentioned that earlier I had said there was a bit too much sag but we could fix it later. So, after dinner, we lengthened his ridgeline about 6”. Sat around the fire & talked till dark.
This morning, around 1:00 or 2:00 it started to rain, we put the tarps up & fell back to sleep. While putting up his tarp, Matt mentioned he was the most comfortable he had ever been while camping. When we finally got up (around 10:30, yea it was still raining) He was seriously impressed by how well he has slept "I have NEVER been so comfortable, Ever!". Naturally, I wasn’t surprised by this, after all, I had been there once myself.
Matt’s tent is now for sale.
And another one leaves the dust!
We got to his house, & he told his wife, "Let me tell you about hammock camping! We can even camp side by side without me bothering you when I roll over!" OH YEA, Matt's tent is seriously for sale!
Insert evil laugh here.
