    What knot is this?

Saw this pic in warbonnetguy's gallery. What knot is this used to form the loop? Is that Amsteel rope? Sorry for all the questions, I'm learning.

If you look at the top of the photo WBG lists it as a Larks Head.

I know the loop is used to make a Larks-head but I was wondering about the knot to make the loop.

It is a double overhand not. It is used to make a stronger fisherman's knot to make the loop, and the loop is larks headed.

If that is a picture of the structural ridgline then it is an overhand knot. I just recently changed the structural ridgeline on my BB and the structural ridgeline loops were made with an overhand knot.

Thanks, so this knot works well with Amsteel?

Thanks, a few pics later in his gallery it shows that he used the loop to form a larks head on the hammock end.
