    Patch

I have an eno hammock and I noticed I have a small perforation in the fabric, what is the best way to patch this to prevent it from getting any larger???

PS been checking out the forum for a while now...looking forward to getting out more this spring...need a nice tarp for backpacking first since i'm now hanging!

Aside from sewing a patch, I think they make adhesive patches for nylon, might help. I don't think there are iron-on patches for nylon (melts). You might want to try contacting Eno, they might offer a solution (or better yet a replacement).

If it is a full rip, I would heat seal the rip to help it from getting any bigger. I have fixed one with putting a piece of nylon on with seam sealant. I like that over sewing. I have no proof, but I think the seam might weaken the fabric.

Maybe a small amount of super glue.

    BTW welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. Where is the perforation? I would be concerned about patching it if it's in a high stress area. I agree with Redtail, contact ENO.

I have a Travel Hammock (Same as ENO) that has two patches in it. I sewed both of them and they have been fine for about 3 months now. One is a quarter moon and one is a clover shaped, cut from Oranger polyester my wife had extra from one her projects.

FWIW I wouldn't use superglue on synthetics fabrics without first testing it. I know if you use it on Dyneems/Spectra it will weaken it, cause brittleness and if it is stressed it will fail at the area. I have had no problems with other glues, just Cyanoacrylate.

you can make your own stick on patches with the c3 sailrite/cuben tape. no stitches needed, probably a stronger bond than the rei patches too

Remember ENO has a 400LB max and a two year warranty. There office number is 828-252-7808. I would see if they would repace it before trying to pach it. Good luck..

I'll second that. Hooch had a tear in one of his ENO's, and he was very happy with their customer service.
