Thanks to outstanding community here on Hammock Forums...what a great bunch of folks. I read, I digested, I decided! I ordered my BB 1.7dbl "mirror" today and plan to buy Brandon a cup-o-joe when I pick it up. Anxious to get to that first hang though I'll need another tree in the backyard! Also have a pair of Dutch Clips to help hold things together.

Thanks again all...and this is only the beginning!

    Welcome to the BB clan.

Have similar propblem with one usable tree in yard.

I tried using 4x4 posts but they broke so I got a couple of 12 ft long (7-8" diameter) pier pilings (think telephone poles).

Had one of the 4x4 post that broke leaning up against the piling for reference

gunner76, why don't you put a couple of sticks together and a couple of lines:

Because he's got pilings! I do like that set up, though. Thanks for the link, I lost it a while back!

Great idea but something tells me another tree would be an easier sell to my wife. She's into that "shade" thing.

but most trees you can afford to put in will need a while to grow big enough to support a hammock..now, if one of the posts you put in to support the tree -while it recovers from transplant shock- should just happen to be bigger than might be absolutely required..."but, dear, the tree isn't big enough yet..."
