    I have been doing some reading up on the cuben material here. If the material holds up to repeated wear better than lesser cost materials and has little to no UV breakdown, is it really that expensive? That is a big, versatile tarp! I don't see one in my immediate future, however, but as my granddaddy said "Value is in the end product." What may seem overly expensive may end up being a not so bad deal. Figure it out on a cost-per-use basis and in the long-run, it may be worth every starved-for penny.

    This isn't helping me resist untilnext month!

    As you say though - it's all about VFM and I will spend on a great, light product if it's going to last as well.

    Not to mention that I can't wait to see pictures/video of one of these tarps set up at night with some light source on underneath. Not too stealth but will sure freak out the locals! Might even get mistaken for one of them 4 footers in The Gorge.
