Hi all,
My name's is Neil and I've been hammocking for about 6 years now. I started with a Hennessy Asym and now use a regular top loading gathered end hammock with an underquilt and down bag.
I've been into bushcraft and wild camping for a while now and am starting to look into the lightweight world. I stumbled across the site while researching making my own gear on a "gear making machine" through ramblnrev's YouTube videos and Shug's hammocking vids. Gear making and lightweight hiking is much more prevalent over there than here in the UK - although hammocking is becoming more popular every year.
I'm very impressed with the wealth of knowledge on here and hope to bring something to the table - even if it's just updates on mistakes - EDIT: learnings - I've made
Thanks guys...
PS - the name comes from my long time best friend "Raskus the rottie" who is sadly no longer with me, but I've used it so long I will keep it for a while yet...
