    Any one have this hammock?

I'm new to the world of hammock camping and just saw a good looking starter hammock on Campmor's site and was about to order it--but thought I'd ask here first. Anyone have and use the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater? It looks good to me. The only thing I can't figure out is where you enter it. Is it from below like the HH's?

I was thinking about the OES Mac Cat Deluxe to use as a tarp to go over it.

    Any thoughts?

    It is a side zip.

I used mine for a couple months until I could upgrade.

If you have some extra cash, I'd go with a different hammock IMHO.

The bug netting is suspended with its own suspension which is annoying and clunky and the material is too stretchy for my liking.

For 100 bucks you could get a side zip Hennessey (which I have never had any experience with but has to be better than the Skeeter Beeter).

I use a Skeeter beeter, I was going to make a hammock myself but ended up buying the SB for $25. I like it for the price but the no see-um bug netting is kind of a pain to setup and fragile. I also replaced stock suspension system with webbing and whoopies. Good starter hammock to get ya out there though. I hope this helps. Hang Easy!

Skeeter Beeter is not for heavyweights. For that you need the SD Pro. But it is a fine hammock. I had one for my daughter before she decided she did not want to camp any more. Definitely plan on changing the suspension. The straps that come with it are adequate for backyard use. If you are going to be in the same place all the time. But for being on the move you want a suspension that allows more room for easy adjustment. The Grand Trunk straps are "incremental" so you are stuck with the attachment points they give you which don't always work the best.
