    Video: Whoopiesling Bury Pull

This idea may not be new, so if it has been done before, please note in a post. The basic idea is very simple; add a little string to the bury to make it easier to locate and easier to pull.
    - The way I did this was to go down about 2 strands on either side of the bury entry point and pull through a piece of zing-it. Very simple, took about 3 minutes a side.

The second idea is discussed in the video but not shown. I was thinking a color coded whoopiesling may be an improvement for a novice hanger.
    - So, the idea is to slice in a second color string (like Amsteel) on the tree side of the bury. This would make the bury / constriction portion two colors. The outer color would be one color and the threaded portion would be a second color. So, it would be easier to see the two lines.

Lastly, if there is anything I did here that would make this dangerous in any way, please let us know with a post.

Haha your daughter's response was too cute. I don't know if this has every been done before but it certainly doesn't seem like a bad idea. Personally, I don't know that it necessarily makes figuring out how to adjust the sling any easier for a beginner, but I would think it would make adjusting with gloves much easier. But again, I'm no expert on these things.

Yep, she might be right - I made a simple system more complicated.
    - But, I should add that the gray whoopiesling was on a continuous ridge line with little fiction while the blue sling had a fairly tight slider at the toggle to keep it from falling off. So, the gray moved with less fiction, and no, I am not sure if that was the difference.

Looks like a clever way to adjust especially with gloves on. The one thing I can think of off the top of my head is that the weak point of the whoopie sling is where the tail exits the adjustable bury. The braid tends to get loosened there and if your loops are nearby, it may cause further loosening of the braiding. I don't know if it would cause problems but being in the area where Samsom Rope states is the weak point, might be something to consider. Over time I wonder if the Zing it would cause wear on some of the strands in the braiding as well. Just some thoughts.

    Hi Eric,

Good idea - definitely helpful for if you are wearing gloves...

Nope, did not notice. I will get that fixed.

My son (10 years old) is the editor. He loves posting videos. So, I give him raw footage and he edits. The entire audio is from me sitting in the hammock (for consistent sound) and then I queue my boy's editing by saying "gray, "blue", and "yellow" so he overlays the correct detail shots.

As for the strength of the bury, I think if I move the zing-it closer to the center and only tuck it under one stand of the Amsteel, it will eliminate the pulling apart of the weave. I will post a photo when I get a chance.
