When did the so called "newer style" come out? I originally ordered my 3S Incubator last November. I measured it, and though it seem to be about 2" wider at one end than the other, it was hard to tell. I am curious as to when this design change took place.

What I did do was to put a different s-biner on the slightly wider (head?) end to help identify it when hanging. Maybe this will make a difference. I have occasionally had a slight draft when the weather was cooler. Don't misunderstand, I love my Incubator. Just curious as to what it is that I have.

Also, make sure the cord on the footbox side is above the footbox.

This is a good piece of advice, absolutely critical with my phoenix. Snugs everything up.

Knottie [Ron], in another thread on this topic, offered that by far the fastest (and maybe the only?) way to success and optimal fit with an UQ is to have a partner get in the hmmck while you walk around it and adjust it.

ISTM the quality of learning and feedback would be so much greater from that experience than from inside the hmmck that there is no comparison.

Theory and experience with an AHE UQ.

My nephew has a BB and winter Yeti. I have a BB and winter incubator. His set up is perfect except for the need of an extra pad in the footbox. With the incubator I always had CBS, cold feet, cold shoulder, etc. no matter what I did.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend a group of us hiked the Thunder Swamp Trail in the Poconos. The first night I froze my butt off as usual. The next night I asked my nephew to figure out what was going on. The problem was that I would kick the UQ off the footbox whenever I moved around. My nephew was telling me about the triangle thingies and field engineered the following solution for my problem:
He lifted up both sides of the suspension on the foot end of the UQ about eight inches back from the S carabiner, making sure the footbox was inside the UQ. Then he tied the two cords together ON TOP of the ridgeline. Instant, heavenly warmth!

Now I do the same thing on both ends. Works perfect. Toasty warm last night at 26 degrees.

I just have to ask... how do you fit into the phone booth to change into the cape and tights?
