Greetings from SE Kansas

My name's Jared and I live in Pittsburg Ks. I work at a local TV station as a graphic artist but the vast majority of my free time is spent outside camping or hiking.

I've clicked through HF for awhile now, but for the most part I'm a Newbie. I just recently decided to get into hammock camping and I love it.

Right now I'm hanging in a ENO Singlenest, and I'm looking for something a little bigger. I'm 6' 5" and 250lbs and the singlenest is nice and holds me up well, but it just feels a bit small.

I do most of my hanging and camping down across the border in Oklahoma with a friend of mine. But I've become a recent fan of hiking the Ozark Trail and sometime soon my brother and I are planning a trip to Colorado.

Anyway, I finally registered to get on here and I'm looking forward to everything I can learn and the input from all the seasoned hammock campers out there.

Welcome to the forum. I'm orginally from your area at Cherryvale. Maybe I'll see you at one of the hangs. The Colorado hang is in July.

Father was a Gorilla, brother is a Raven circa 80's and still lives in Coffeyville, and my mother in law is from the armpit better known as Columbus. Nah, that's backwards, Columbus, better known as the armpit of Kansas.

They still have that big Steam shovel down there, what is it Bertha?

Walking Bear I'll definitely let you know if I'm gonna be at Colorado, it'd be cool to meet someone that was from my neck of the woods.

Mr.Clean I'll definitely agree with you that Columbus is the armpit of Kansas lol, and Yeah that steamshovel's still down here taking up space, it's called Big Brutus.
